School Lane Maltings

Some of the tallest maltings buildings in the country, these incredible structures had been ravaged by fire and dry rot. Structurally unsound and in danger of collapse the larger building, Malting 7 was so far gone that it was not possible to find an economically viable scheme to retain it. However by allowing consent for enabling new build development where that malting had been, meant that the smaller malting that fronts School Lane could be restored. Lexden Restorations designed the scheme and obtained the planning consent before selling to another development company as we were already developing in nearby Manningtree.
